Speaker Cabinets
Speaker Cabinets are often the missing ingredient to a person's tone recipe.

Dr Z speaker cabinets can be found on stages all over the world. and many, many bars around the corner. Our cabs are designed to be road worthy and trunk worthy. All Dr Z speaker cabs are built with voidless Baltic Birch ply and are available in our standard color options.

The "Z Best":
The Z Best 2x12 closed back cab is an animal all its own. We have utilized a Theile Ported design which allows us to dial in the full frequency range of the guitar. Low end is determined by the port thickness, Mid response by the shelf depth, and Top end by choice of speakers. Placed vertically, the Z Best delivers a tuned focused sound. yet has the airy qualities associated with open back cabs. When placed horizontally, you pick a bit more low end as the port is then coupled with the floor. This is a long throw cabinet that will get the sound to the back of the room. Standard speaker configuration is a Celestion Vintage 30 and Celestion G12H30. Other Celestion speakers are available on request.

Weight: 60 lbs
Dimensions: 28 ¼” H, 19 ¼” W, 13 ¾” D

4x10 cab:
Our 4x10 open back cab utilizes the classic floating baffle design found on the great 4x10 amps of the 1950’s. The entire front of the cabinet comes alive to deliver an outstanding wall of sound. The 4x10 cab comes loaded with our proprietary Z 10” speakers. Big sound awaits and this cab can handle any head you put on it.
Weight: 53 lbs
Dimensions: 24” H, 24” W, 10” D

1x12 or 2x10 cab:
A perfect fit under or next to our 1x12 or 2x10 combos and an excellent match for any of our heads. The Dr Z 1x12 or 2x10 cab is like getting 2 speaker cabs for the price of one. We offer a removable rear panel which enables closed back or open back operation. Standard 12” speaker is the Celestion Vintage 30 (other Celestion speakers available on request, see your dealer). The 2x10 comes standard with our own Z 10” speakers.
Both cabs utilize a classic floating baffle design.
Weight: 1x12 = 38 lbs, 2x10 = 41 lbs
Dimensions: 19 ½” H, 22 ¾” W, 10 ¼” D

2x12 Open Back cab:
Generally found under a Stang Ray or RXES head, the Dr Z open back 2x12 delivers excellent performance for any application. The 2x12 open back uses lens technology and comes with your choice of available Celestion speakers (see dealer). These are a perfect match for a Dr Z 2x12 combo to create your own unique stack.
Weight: 54 lbs
Dimensions: 22 ¼ “ H, 27 ½ “ W, 10 ¼” D
